What Members Thought

This was a pretty good novel. I liked the retelling of mythology from Circe’s perspective. It was interesting to see how she viewed other Gods, Goddess, and Titans, how she fit into the narrative, and how she ended up on her island. I wavered between three stars and four stars because some parts were really slow and rather boring. I understand that SHE was in exile, but that doesn’t mean the reader should be stuck as well. I have some knowledge of Greek mythology but I wasn't too familiar with Circe's story. The book did drag a bit in places, but overall I really enjoyed it. When Circe became a mother, it felt very real to me, I remember walking up and down the halls with a baby who couldn't be calmed no matter what you did. And then to have a child who couldn't stop moving and never felt calm as they grew up. It all was very relatable in my own journey through motherhood.
