What an incredible memoir! It didn’t even read like a memoir, but like a work of fiction. I love the point of view of a girl who took every word her Dad said as gospel (literally & figuratively) but through experience and education (not just through school), she began to think for herself and to question all that had been ingrained in her throughout her youth. A thoughtful, brutally honest memoir of her "education" in the mountains of Idaho. Loved the style of sharing different versions from her family members regarding events as well as what she recalled personally. Kudos to Westover's family, friends and professors for encouraging her to consider college, course work beyond her own imgaination.
