Honestly I have no idea how I would feel about this book if I had never seen the movie; it's impossible to read without seeing the movie in your head at the same time. In the book Buttercup is dumber, the author pop-ins are more annoying, and the Pit of Insanity is called the Zoo of Death and involves more dead animals...so by and large I'd say the movie made some good calls. I wondered if it would be the Princess Bride only MORE so, but no- it was mostly the same charming, funny story. ...more
