This is hard one for me to rate. There were several instances during the reading where I considered DNFing due to boredom. But I kept going, and in this case I think I liked the final quarter enough that it was worth my time.

I think the author tried to do too much with the layered storytelling. There was a lot of storytelling devices going on, and that ended up making it longer than it needed to be and also less focused. Some of the plot details were too convenient and thus, unbelievable to me.

While the story started off slow, when it picked up it picked up fast. The story falls into the realm of Jane Eyre. It is very dark, suspense and heart breaking but is one of those stories that you just can not put down once you reach a certain point.
