Really looking forward to War and Peace now. Brilliant writer this Tolstoy guy was evidently.

The first (and last) line of this novel may be the best opening to any book I’ve ever read — “Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way”
I did a buddy-listen with my brother-in-law with this book (he finished weeks before me 🤦🏻♀️) and I am SO glad to cross this one off my classics list. This is an absolute MUST read, noted as one of the greatest novels ever written. It was the longest audiobook I’ve ever read (35 hours) and I’m glad I listened to it, ...more

I'm giving this book 3 stars. It was brilliant in its way but terribly depressing. I would sum up the story by saying - Nobody's ever really happy, ever.
