Truman Capote's writing was excellent and I'm glad I finally sampled it. The attention to detail and the extensive research that was obviously done combined to make you feel you knew all the major participants in the story. I do feel though that I've read more compelling creative nonfiction. I also can't see the apparent fascination with this particular crime, then or now. I suppose this book was a first of its kind and for that I give it full marks but I guess crime fiction is just not for me. ...more

Perhaps one of the the greatest, if not THE greatest crime stories ever written. Capote is a master. If he were living today, he would be the ultimate true crime podcaster.
