Very YA vibe, but I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I would probably only recommend it to older teens + because of all of the profanity.

Hard to put down. Very difficult subject and disturbing scenes. The narrator for audio book added.
Being older middle aged middle class white female, I enjoyed the young adult and black urban culture and learned some new words and points of view.
Synopsis: teen girl from the “hood” who commutes to a privileged “white” school watches first hand as her friend is mistreated by a policeman. She is torn between watching out for herself and fighting injustice.
