Come non dare il massimo dei voti a questo libro? Pur non eccellendo nella caratterizzazione dei personaggi o nella complessità della trama rispetto ad altre opere, il libro colpisce per il suo messaggio profondo e la straordinaria costruzione di un mondo distopico. If I'd read this before the Trump presidency, then 'meh'...reading it now has been eye-opening. This book is decades before its time in today's world of alternate facts and newspeak. 1984 is having a huge resurgence online, and I read this as one of a series in an online read-along.

Maybe audio was not a good choice for this book or maybe so many of the ideas (i.e. big brother) have been absorbed in to popular culture that it just seemed trite.
Después de leer Farenheit 451, esta novela me quedó a deber. Me gustó la premisa, y el desarrollo de la historia, peeeeeero se me hizo MUY cansado, demasiada descripción. Sentí que Orwell me quiso mostrar su mundo de forma muy "fácil"; el personaje lee un texto que explica toda la situación, lector aguanta, el personaje lo tiene que leer.... muchas palabras, yo en un cuarto blanco solo esuchando una clase de política de un mundo imaginario.
