What Members Thought
I’ve been meaning to write a review on this one for many months. I think this type of book about race is important today, but I’m not sure how I feel about a white woman writing from a black woman’s point of view here. I can’t say, as a white woman myself, how accurate that was. Not to say I thought it was bad—it just made me a little uncomfortable. And maybe that was the point? Not sure. Excellent novel. I felt like the format of the book which revealed the story from three different points of view was very effective. In spite of the fact that one of the POV's was extremely difficult to read at times. This was somehow a thoughtful book while still keeping the reader on the edge of her seat. If I had any criticism it would be that the ending wrapped up a little too neatly but I must admit it was the ending I was hoping for.
