I loved the writing style. Very descriptive. I was really wanting to see character development on more of the characters especially get into the minds of the littl'uns.

I've just reread this book after 40 years and it is still powerful. Despite some minor flaws, I was emotionally exhausted at the end.
I'm glad Golding stuck to just boys as that streamlined the issues and made it more believable. Powerful storytelling with believable transition. Reread! ...more

This was a fairly quick read, but I wasn't super impressed with it. I didn't really care very much what happened, because I didn't care about the characters. They were so one-dimensional, and there wasn't a lot to distinguish one from another.
