I was so sure I was going to love this. I was so obsessed at the beginning. I loved the writing and the atmosphere, but NOTHING happens in this book right up until the very end. It is SO slow and boring :(
I've heard the series gets way better so I'll read the rest of the series at some point though!

I absolutely LOVED this first installment of Robin Hobb's extended fantasy series. The writing was brilliant. The world building rich. The characters alive. The plot engaging. Can't speak highly enough of it. I am so excited to keep going!!

My first real reading of low fantasy, and I enjoyed it. The characters are complex, and the story is personal, emotional, and dialogue-driven.
