This book gave me the feeling I got when I first read Harry Potter. I intend to write a full review but Fitz is a brilliant protagonist - with no previous knowledge of court life he made for a great introduction into the world. Hobb employs time-slips well so that each scene feels vital to the overall plot.

I actually started reading this book and then got distracted! Picked it up where I left off and finished it in two days! It was a great tale. Wonderfully written, rich with details and I felt like I was in the book watching the life of Fitz play out. I loved it! I'm now reading the second book in this trilogy, and I can't wait to see what happens next! Highly recommend, great book! ...more
