By far, my new favorite series. Robin Hobb's characters are rich and the pace is excellent. Good luck getting any sleep after you start this book. I've never been so emotionally attached to characters in a story before. My only critique is that you may need a tissue box while reading it (but that's a critique of love and something I should have expected after seeing it was endorsed by George R.R. Martin).

After reading Liveship Traders trilogy, I didn't think I would enjoy this trilogy as much because of how epic the Liveships traders was. But I really enjoyed A.A. and going straight into Royal Assassin.
I know I read in the wrong order but I couldn't wait for Farseer Trilogy to arrive when I already had Liveship trilogy right in front of me.

First let me say the covers of the books in the US are horrendous and cliche.
Okay, so I've never read sci fi/fantasy and I wanted to get hooked on a series. I did a lot of research and listened to countless Booktube videos. Ultimately I was led to Robin Hobb and I wasn't disappointed.
I felt that the first 200 pages had a lot of slow moments but after that it picks up quite a bit. The ending was very fast paced and I almost had trouble understanding everything that was going on.

i actually really liked this, but i'm not giving it more stars because i think it's a story that could've been told in far fewer pages. at times i felt there was a lot of telling and little showing in the narration and that made me skimmed through some pages. that said, it is still wonderfully written and full of compelling characters i fell in love with, and i'm definitely continuing the trilogy <3
