2018 might be the year of Robin Hobb.
I was in a huge reading slump while I waited for my favorite authors to release their new books, and Assassin's Apprentice singlehandedly rescued my 2017. I'm a huge fan of Fitz, huge fan of Burrich, and a huge fan of the story. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the series has in store! ...more

I flew through this novel despite hearing how it was the densest and hardest to get through...I for one really appreciated it being essentially a "set-up" novel in the Realms of the Elderlings extensive series by Robin Hobb...introduced us to Fitz with his upbringing and role in the world so far...as well as to some interesting secondary characters whom I look forward to reading more about in subsequent books...Taking on the Realms of Elderlings is indeed daunting with 16 books but the writing i

Awesome read! Can't wait to start Royal Assassin. This is the first book of Robin Hobb's that I have read and is one of my favourite authors already! I love her writing and world building. The character development in this book is just too good. I love Fitz and can't wait to follow him on his life journey.
I breezed through this one. I definitely recommend it :)

The first 150 pages I read over a year ago and I remember enjoying but for some reason I put it down and had no drive to pick this back up but when I did a couple of months after that I had no memory of anything and so put it back down. I then because of a read-a-long (https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...) pushed myself to start this again. I enjoyed the 150 pages a little but more this time around but after that I fell in LOVE with this book it just got so damn good!!

There is a lot of hype around this series, so I had a lot of expectations with this book.
I think this one is a solid first book for the trilogy, it is a great introduction for this world who has me intrigued.
This book is the story of Fitz, a bastard who's learning to be an assassin. The character is great, and I empathized with him from the beginning.
