What Members Thought
My first foray into the writing of Thomas Hardy. The opening dragged on quite a bit, only saved by Hardy's gorgeous prose and lush setting. It sped up quite a bit in the second half, and the end, well those that don't know, it's got quite an unexpected twist. Sure there are small signs along the way, but it floored me. I wish I had spent more time reading it, I rushed it far too quickly than the style allows. Looking forward to reading another Hardy book.
