What Members Thought
Countess Olenska is bigger than the book, she's an amazing character: I'd dare to say she's the only interesting character in the novel- I would've liked it better if it was about her (narrated from her pov) and not that insufferable Archer. In a way, the book is all about her... but isn't. Olenska is like an object (for Archer, for everyone in the book). I would've loved to see inside her mind, to follow her around, see the dull world of the old NYC society scene through her eyes. But instead,
