I have come to agree with those who are wondering where all the accolades for this book came from. The Known World is the story of Henry Townsend who defied his father to become a properous owner of slaves, Henry was a former slave himself his freedom was bought by his father Augustus, his father who hates the idea of slavery with all his being.
