Okay, I think this will be an unpopular opinion. This book has so much hype that I really thought I would love it, that's always a problem for me since I don't always like books that others love, in half I thought I was hooking myself but then I started to get bored a lot, I struggle to finish it and my brain hurts so we talk about it

Second time around and six years later, I'm even more impressed with the worldbuilding. I'm taking notes as I go along so that I can be prepared when I read the sequel, which means I'm noticing a lot more, and man, there is just so much detail to this world. You can tell Susan Dennard has meticulously planned out so much, and you can be certain she knows where she's headed. This feels sweeping and epic.

The only thing I didn't like this time around -- which I guess I didn't pick up on as strongly

Larkin (Wonderfilled Reads)
I cannot believe it took me this long to pick up this book. I also can't believe how many people said it was boring when it was first released... Ummm, what book were they reading? Because this book was nonstop action from start to finish. I loved it! The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because I think there could have been some more detail added for the world building to help clarify some things. I also would've appreciated like a chart or something for all of the different witches menti ...more

Truthwitch is the first in a new young adult fantasy series, The Witchlands by Sarah Dennard. There are four planned installments in the series so far, with them coming out once a year. So if you're like me and hate waiting for sequels to come out, you may want to hold off on reading this until it's nearer to the release date of the next book. Overall, I would say this was a pretty good read, and I'll probably pick up the sequel when it

Let’s Talk About The Plot:

So first off the book starts out by immediately pulling you into the story, the writing had a very addictive quality to it and kept me turning

Consensus: Though not without it's flaws, Truthwitch, is a story that exemplifies loyalty, true friendship, and overall badassery. Dennard has created a rich world with vivid characters that have you flipping the pages at a rapid pace, needing to know the outcome. I flew through this book, and fell in love with the character and have no doubt that you will too. I think those that like Throne of Glass will enjoy this novel.

Hey Lizzy,

If you're looking for magic, looming war, sexy princes/ship captains, and strong sister-friendships, but you're not too picky about sound logic, consistency, or worldbuilding, have I got a book for you.

Despite its numerous flaws (don't worry, I'll get there), I really enjoyed Truthwitch—so I'll t
