OMG you GUYS !, I can't believe how incredible this book is. It was so intense and dramatic, I'm super emotional right now, I really loved it. It will be difficult to describe such an EPIC book, but I'll try to maintain my sanity meanwhile lol. but In short: I LOVED IT

SOOOOOO DARK. SOOOOOO GOOD.

Seriously, I'm dying. What the hell just happened?! I NEED the next book right now, and yet I am extremely scared of where this story is headed. I feel like this is one of those series where the ending kills you, brings you back to life, then kills you again.

four stars because this is a good book in all the technical ways, but it's not really the series for me. idk, i'm conflicted on whether or not to continue on with this series because, as i said, technichally, it's got it all--great plot, great characters, good action, good world building--it's just not my thing... ...more

Wow. WOW. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that this series was written by the same author who wrote the travesty that was Legend. Clearly, Marie Lu just keeps getting better and better with each book, and so I can't wait to see what she comes out with next.

In this book we follow Adelina as she descends further and further into darkness. I absolutely loved being in the headspace of someone who was slowly turning into a villain and who is also clearly losing her mind. It ...more

Marie Lu is such a great storyteller, and the way she weaves her character arcs together and connects everything together is amazing, it makes me so incredibly happy. Marie Lu is just such a sweet person, and hearing her talk about The Young Elites might have upped my excitement for The Rose Society just a little too much.... I actually really enjoyed this book, but it just lacked a little... I predicted the ending, which I never thought I would do in a million years, cause it was ins 4.25 Stars

I actually really enjoyed this book, but it just lacked a little... I predicted the ending, which I never thought I would do in a million years, cause it was insane. Overall, this book was mostly what I wanted in a sequel, but just a little less than I expected...

So, The Rose Society follows Adelina Amouteru where we left her in the last book, running away from the Daggers. She is with her sister searching for Magiano, the trickster. (Who I love) and she plans to take control of Kenettra.

Raffaele has a plan with Queen Maeve of Beldain to do the same, take control of Kenettra.

This leads to a crazy, insane turn of events. This book is one of the darkest books I have ever read, ever. It is SO much darker than The Young Elites, and Marie Lu even says this in her acknowledgements. I LOVED the darkness. Getting to see Adelina's inner struggle, and deep powers that feed on fear, her darkness, it's so intriguing and fascinating and it's written so so so well.

It's very difficult for me to articulate my thoughts on this book because I love the characters, and I love the story, and I don't want to spoil things, because its so intense and everyone deserves to experience it for themselves.

I loved learning about Magiano, and his powers; Sergio and his connection to them; even Lucent's and Maeve's brief story, it was heartbreaking.

Consensus: The Rose Society delves deeper into the depths of Adelina's darkness and the way it affects her inner self and the relationships she has created for herself. Throughout the novel we find deception, darkness, and overall insanity. The characters are rich and have backstories that hold you, and this plot promises to keep you on the edge of your seat. If you have enjoyed anything else by Marie Lu, you are bound to enjoy the way she sweeps you into this world through her words. I highly recommend!
