Paula Hawkins' debut novel The Girl on the Train is THE book that everyone is talking about these days. And with good reason.
The novel is a compulsively readable psychological thriller that gives us shifting narrative view points from three different -- and completely unreliable -- narrators. Rachel, Anna and Megan each have pieces of the puzzle as to what happened when, well, that might be giving away too much. Each of these women's lives has multiple points of intersection and watching as Hawk ...more

What a freaking ride!
First of all let me get something out of my chest... This is nothing like "Gone Girl"... Like absolutely nothing alike. I actually didn't really enjoy "Gone Girl" and as you can see I really loved "The Girl on the Train".
From the first couple of pages, I was hooked. We follow a very unstable and unreliable main character, Rachel, who seems not to be able to get her life together.
I felt sorry for her from the beginning ...more

And it's pretty great, honestly. People aren't always perfect, or remotely civiliced. People make awful choices, ...more

There are not enough words to describe how fast I flew through this novel to figure out what in the heck is going on. Not usually a thriller genre type of reader, I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly obsessed and immersed I became with the story. Just when I thought I had something figure out, bam, Hawkins hits me with another curve-ball.
