This is the second book in Robin LaFevers His Fair Assassin trilogy. The first book blew me away. Dark Triumph was not what I was expecting however it was just as good. This book was so much more dark than the first book.

Dark Triumph has basically my idea of a perfect romance: the couple gets to know each other first and gradually fall in love with each other. I loved them together and got giddy whenever they shared "screen time."
I thought it got a bit bogged down with politics and a bunch of secondary characters (especially in the middle), but then it is essentially a historical romance. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. (Warning: The subject matter can be pretty dark/disturbing. Sybella had a horrible ...more
