What Members Thought

It's tough to review a book like this: so sweeping and epic, yet so deep and personal for many. I'm not going to write about the objective merits of the book, there are plenty of other reviews out there that will cover that territory. I prefer to focus on what speaks to me with each reading, as this is the kind of book that demands multiple readings. Return of the King is one of my favorite books of all time, and for good reason. This reread left me so emotional, highlighting many sections, and just really appreciating Tolkien's prose, his characterization, and the influences on his work.
