In the future, the moon has become a penal colony, only it's been a colony long enough that the citizens are wanting independence. The main character doesn't much care about politics, he programs computers, but he ends up reluctantly planning and executing a revolution with a pair of his friends, to "free Luna."

This is 60s SF from the man who started modern SF. It is about a revolution on the Moon run by an Artificial Intelligence. It has economics, politics and cultural issues. The Libertarians think it's great but I think it demonstrates that Heinlein was smarter than most libertarians.
