Maddie's beloved and saucy grandmother is dying and tells her family to join her on a "death with dignity" cruise, where Maddie grows, loves, grieves, and learns to face her biggest fears as she travels around the globe. Maddie's family isn't perfect, but is lovable, as are the other living and dying characters on the boat. The best novels are those that make the reader laugh and cry, and this book does exactly that. A nice look at what makes life worth living.

This book was wonderful and funny and snarky and such a great way to approach such a sad topic. It could have been a sappy train wreck but instead was engaging, entertaining, and totally worth the read. :)
