It says on Goodreads that it's only 551 pages, but my edition was 744 pages long. Though it was long, it felt like a very solid package. I expected something different and have been thinking (because of the name only) that this book would be about women. Maybe its because of the author, the cover or the fact that my first girlfriend was reading this when she was a teenager.

I'm not sure if I would have rated the book in different way if there wouldn't have been any expectations, but there was some reputation, so here I am. I did get sucked into this world, and I did want to know what happened and how things happened as they did. How this was described was quite well balanced between details and still not getting boring. How things turned, and how people handled it, was perhaps the key.
