Steve Martin shares a candid, honest look at his life in this memoir. He shares both the beautiful and the ugly while revealing a shy personality not seen on TV. It was interesting to see how his comedy routine evolved overtime.
This book is surprisingly almost completely absent of humor. The story Martin tells is interesting and he certainly has not always had an effortless life. He overcame many problems "cold-turkey," which I found refreshing. ...more

My favorite chapter was chapter 2 when he talks about working at a magic shop at Disneyland in the early days of Disneyland. I liked the beginning and end of the book but the rest of the book was pretty dry and boring for me to read. It was interesting to read about his humble background and how much work it is to be a comedian.
