I was looking for something else when I found this book, and the cover pulled me in. Take a look at the hardback cover art, it's amazing!
And then, the world that Meredith Ann Pierce creating was so different, it read like a fantasy, but then I realized it was actually SF, set in the far future. Very cool.
I liked Aeriel and her brave attempt to avenge Eoduin, which becomes a much bigger quest to save the Darkangel himself. I was captivated, and I still am.
