Shelves: fiction, kids, fantasy, end-of-the-world, monsters, coming-of-age-angst, magic
Loved the characters and the first half of their story, but then it transitions into a dark urban fantasy in an alternate, sinister New York City and I enjoyed that part a lot less. Still well-written and the characters were wonderful, but ultimately not the sort of story I signed on for, and that was disappointing.

Just as good as I remembered it. Why haven't I ever found one of these books? Also, never went through a wardrobe in to a magical land. sigh.
