My edition is older than the one pictured here, published in 1994. I read this series when I was younger and wanted to come back as an adult.
This time around, my favorite parts of the book were the same as my first go: the "handwritten" diary entries, the map of Chatham Island, and the edgy characters. I liked that Applegate wasn't afraid to make her characters do shitty things and then try to navigate the consequences. The mid-90s references (Shannen Doherty!) were fun too. ...more
