i am amazed at the high ratings for this book. flummoxed. gobsmacked. bewildered. forlorn. horrified.

if you are new to karen, let me give you some background. i used to be really frownyfaced at the number of adults coming into the store looking for teen fiction. i run the regular adult fiction section, and i used to take great pleasure in telling grown women, "twilight?? why, that is in the children's department." i used to be amazed that so many women in their thirties were reading books intend

Will has been seeing Doctor Stevens for some time now, but his phobia still isn't cured. She convinces him to go to Fort Eden with 6 other teens to be cured. Will has other plans. During the hike to Fort Eden from where the bus drops them off, he disappears.

Inside Fort Eden, in the basement, there is a bomb shelter with video monitors. Will makes himself right at home, observing as one by one, each of the other teens is "cured." Or are they? What Will sees on the screens doesn't look like a cure

I'm immediately suspicious of any book covered in QR codes that has, like, exclamation points instructing readers to download the app and the game that goes with the book. This just wasn't very well written and it made no sense. Abandoned after about 60 pages. ...more
