I did not realize this was YA when I picked it up--even the low end of YA; it might actually be a middle-grade book. In that context, it's actually pretty charming, but if you're expecting something more complicated, deeper, it can be a bit disappointing. I'm having a hard time reviewing it because of this; I think I would have liked it more if I hadn't been expecting something else. I think it might have been a good book, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have.

Surprisingly detailed in it's historical accuracy. A maiden to Queen Elizabeth solves crimes. Fun and empowering
