Clever use of the woke-up-with-amnesia trope, with shades of Dark Lord of Derkholm and The Tough Guide to Fantasyland. I loved the bits of the actual Frugal Wizards' Guide (TM) especially, and thought the ending as well as a number of the twists and reveals were really great.
