I didn't think I would like this when I first started reading it, but by the end I thought it was brilliant. In a book consisting entirely of pictures, with no words, Tan has vividly portrayed what it is like to be an immigrant to another country. In this story, an ordinary looking man immigrates to a country where some things look familiar, but most things look alien.
