What Members Thought
I’d really like to give it 3.5 stars. I started skimming in the last 5th of the book. That’s a sure sign. While I’m grateful for the beautiful writing and how I was educated about the horrific way Chinese immigrants and, specifically, Chinese women were treated in this so-called “land of the free”, I think it just got too depressing and hopeless for me. That may be my white privileged rearing it’s head.
