It took me forever to read this since I started listening to it and then moved to the print version on and off. Some stories do not lend themselves well to audio and "A Junket in the City of Light" was such a story. It was then that I gave up listening. But I did finish and, like with most short story collections I read, felt that some stories were very good and others so-so. Short stories often leave me saying, "and then what?" I personally have a couple of old typewriters, so this collection of stories themed around typewriters sounded interesting. I chose to listen to the audiobook, because Tom Hanks, although I had to grab the print book copy to finish out the last story after my loan for the downloadable audio expired. I kind of wish I had read the print copy, because I think the formatting of the stories and the typeset would have given me a slightly different experience.

Really. Was. NOT. enjoying the first story, and the audiobook files made it difficult to figure out if I had successfully skipped to the next story or what, and eventually my library loan expired, and I'm not going to request this again.
