Gorgeous, spare writing that brings to life an unusual and wonderful story. I couldn't put this one down, and it made me sad and joyful at the same time.

Slow to get into, and a bit long, but the pace feels brisker once you get into the story, and the resolution was satisfying, emotional, and felt earned. Recommended to readers who enjoy thoughtful fantasy.
