So I am always looking for a good new mystery series with a memorable lead character. As I have branched out and taken more risks, largely I have been burnt. China Lake was no exception to the rule. Written by a woman with a strong woman character (huge pluses for me)it was ultimately a rushed (badly plotted), not always intelligible, pro-military (rah rah), pro forma thriller.
