Another excellent book by Liane Moriarty! I read Big Little Lies before this one, and The Husband's Secret is as much a page turner (well, I listened to it on audio) as Lies. Moriarty does this fantastic mash up of domestic and crime fiction by throwing in some crime and a handful of dark secrets to shake up a family's pleasant but mundane existence. Her characters are so fleshed out that even minor ones become integral, memorable parts of the story.

OK, to be fair, and because I see this book has many four and even five star reviews from people I know and trust, I will preface my review by saying that I read this book while in the midst of this horrible, horrible flu, so maybe George Clooney sitting by the side of my bed reading the entire "Betsy-Tacy" series to me wouldn't have kept my attention. I don't like books about murder- it just feels like the author is sensationalizing someone's pain. If not for all the brutality and negative thinking in this book, I would have said I enjoyed it. The structure was different (in a good way), and the way the story unfolded kept me up reading until the wee-ist of morning hours. I'll try another of her books but not one involving lying, physically maiming, or willfully hurting others.
