You know Pines is a page turner when I'm reading it instead of watching the first Alabama football game of the season. Pines is a book so full of twists and turns that you are compelled to put aside life and finish it just to find out what the hell is going on.

If you haven't read Blake Crouch, read Blake Crouch. He has quickly become one of my favorite authors. He's weird, man. What a weirdo.
This is way less polished than his more recent work (Dark Matter and Recursion) but definitely, definitely still worth checking out, in my humblest of opinions.

3.5! From the beginning, I was riveted and extremely confused. I couldn't determine the time concept and was certainly thrown for a loop a few times. I could have lived without one of those loops but I look forward to seeing how everything plays out in the next two!

Surprisingly good! Checked out for free on my Kindle with Prime so I had low expectations but even so I really got into it.
4.5 and I started reading the sequel right away. Totally weird and engrossing.
