I've been determined to love Megan Abbott since I saw the cover of Queenpin (which I still need to read). I assumed it was my problem rather than hers when I didn't really love Take My Hand and then was unable to get through The Turnout. And I was right, bc Beware the Woman is tits! It's exactly what I had hoped for, a gothic style twisty mystery saturated with justified female paranoia.
