I read the actual physical book which I usually prefer to an e book but there were so many passages that I would have liked to highlight at the beginning that I regretted not getting the ebook. Recommended.

Thrity Umrigar never disappoints me. I find that her books are beautifully written, often heart-wrenching, and believable. This book takes place in India, a place that Smita Argawal left when she was a teenager. As an Indian-American journalist, she is sent to interview a young Hindu woman who was badly burned by her brothers for marrying a Muslim. As the story unfolds, the reason Smita and her family left India is revealed.

Terrific book. Rather upsetting story but very well written and hard to put down. I recommend it.
