Shelves: 3-stars, chick-lit, owned-audiobook, 2022

I hardly know how to review this book without giving away spoilers, because it very much turned out NOT to be the type of book I thought it would be, based on reading the back blurb.

It wasn't quite as good as "The Flatshare" or "The Switch", but a LOT better than "The Roadtrip". It won't work for everybody, but trust the author - she's got a plan. ...more

If this was my first Beth O'Leary, it would've been a much more stressful reading experience. Fortunately, I knew that it would all come out alright in the end, and I could enjoy trying to figure out that could be possible (I guessed it, but one detail convinced me I was wrong until the reveal). As usual, the story is in between a romance and straight fiction - lots of the fun elements of romance, but heavier plotlines and a good, large cast of characters. ...more
