Take The Westing Game, a bit of Agatha Christie, a healthy helping of Edgar Allan Poe, maybe a bit of the Robert Parker Spenser novels, and—I don't know—something else with sparkling wit and lively, fully realized characters, and you might get this wonderful, incredibly enjoyable novel. Like The Westing Game for grownups. So much fun!!
Exactly what I was in the mood for - slightly escapist, a fun mystery, and a real heart. It celebrates friendship in a way that’s rare.
I enjoyed this, but it took a while for me to get invested in the story. The characters were fun, and the mysterious game that they become embroiled in was intriguing.
Meh. It turned out to be far more rambling than I would have liked. So much potential for an engaging story, but I was left wanting.
