I love Eva Ibbotson but i realise now why her books aren’t as popular as they should be. ‘The Secret of Platform 13’ and ‘The Star of Kazan’ could have been as popular as Harry Potter as Rowling seemed to have lifted so many ideas from them. The problem is that although Ibbotson’s ideas, stories and characters are amazing, her tone and content do not match.
