Perfectly pleasant but sort of aimless and unremarkable YA romance. It was sort of strange to me how juvenile the characters and their problems felt to me, actually, compared to a lot of other YA, even by these same authors.

Arthur is spending the summer in New York, and bumps into a hot guy at the post office quite by accident. Ben was trying to mail his ex-boyfriend's stuff back to him. Was the universe trying to get them together? After each of them hunts the other down, they decide to try going on a date. And then a do-over date. Boy meets boy. Boy doesn't get boy's name or number. Boy finds boy.

Told in alternating chapters, and with two authors, it's disappointing that the voices of Ben and Arthur weren't that different despite being presented as such different people (one is from Georgia, the other a Native New Yorker; one is into arcade games, the other into Broadway, etc.). There were a few cliches here, too, that made my eyes roll. Still, not a bad romance to share with teens.

A meet-cute story that handles the next part realistically - a good combination of starry eyes and do-overs.

3.5 stars. I’m not sure why, but I started picturing Arthur as Artie and Ben as Blaine from Glee…
