Rosie Danan’s The Roommate was a lot steamier than I expected it to be. I think the pink cover through me off! At one point I tried to read it while watching my daughter’s gymnastics practice and was paranoid that parents behind me were reading over my shoulder.
While the steam may have caught me by surprise, I really enjoyed it. I feel like so often these books can be predictable but this definitely had some turns I wasn’t expecting.

Why did I keep reading this book? I'm not sure who I'm most mad at -- myself or this book.
(Too many tropes, inconsistent characters, telling not showing, plausibility stretches ... bleh.)

I liked it well enough, but it was a lot more unrealistic than I had expected it to be - even within its own universe. Too insta-lovey and too much wish fulfillment. The end especially had me rolling my eyes. I atually didn't mind the wish fulfillment part until then, but the final confrontation happening on live radio? Nope - not buying it. Waaaay out of character
