I was disappointed in this book, because I really did like "Burying the Honeysuckle Girls". However, while this one was suspenseful - - -and I would give it 4 stars for that - - - the plot with all the various names became so convoluted that by the time it ended, I wasn't sure which characters belonged to which families! I think that was an unfortunate side effect of the "book within a book" device that Carpenter employed, but that alone had me so muddled that the ending was only marginally sati

This book is ridiculous. I kept waiting for it to get better or make sense but it never did.
