What Members Thought
A little too sweet and lesson-y for my tastes, though I did appreciate the shoutouts to classic books and characters (including Edward Eager, Little Women, Betsy-Tacy, Ann of Green Gables, the Penderwicks). The characters were somewhat flat and seemed to added more to the diversity quota (a dad who cooks! a mom who works as a garbageman! lesbian mothers! vegans! a deaf friend!) than they did to the richness of the story.
