Absolutely charming! Wish I had a cat like Serapina. Anne White writes with a touch of humor, making the story all the more enjoyable. For example, when talking about Mrs. Fowler, the bird enthusiast, White uses a lot of alliterative words starting with the letter "f," and describes her as fluttering, twittering, hopping, and flapping. Mrs. McPherson, the dog lover, is always loud, like a dog's bark. The characters are marvelous. Where has this author been all my life? I must read more! Highly r
