Fluff. Unsympathetic fluff, at that. I did not like Anthea, our "heroine" or care about her "plight" of not having enough money to support the desired lifestyle of the elite and having to get by with just her beauty, fancy house, loyal servants, and supportive mother.

When this book started, I didn't think I was going to like it. Characterization improved as the book progressed, and I really liked it!

Obviously inspired by Pride and Prejudice, I wish the protagonist had been a more sympathetic character. It's hard to get excited for and about a girl who proclaims herself to be one of the most beautiful young ladies of the land - let the other characters paint that picture for us and it would be a more enjoyable read.
